Abstract

The objective of this model is to minimize the inventory cost for supermarket problems. In this paper we consider an inventory model of deteriorating items with stock dependent demand rate in which shortages are not allowed. The cycle time of this model is divided into two parts. In the first interval the demand is taken as stock dependent and in later it is constant. As most of the parameters are uncertain, we consider the demand, holding cost, deterioration cost and deterioration rate as pentagonal fuzzy number and defuzzified by Signed distance method. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the results along with graphical analysis. Sensitivity analysis has also been carried out for different values of the system parameters.
