Abstract

Massive supratentorial infarct caused by a large vessel occlusion results in death, which can be avoided by performing an early decompressive craniectomy rather than a delayed one. This is a brief review of the clues used to determine which cases require immediate surgery. Literature was reviewed about clinical, radiological, technical aspects.
