Huberantha senjiana, a rare species of the Annonaceae family was examined with different solvent extractions along with phytochemicals screening for their total alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenolics and carbohydrates were quantified using standard procedures. The high abundance of phenolic compounds in methanol extract possesses good antioxidant activities. The bioactive compounds were identified by GC-MS analysis showed the presence of 13 major bioactive compounds. The DPPH free radical scavenging was performed for methanolic extract at various concentrations ranging from (20µg/ml) to (100µg/ml). The concentration of 100 µg /ml showed significant free radical scavenging activity with a percentage of 84 %. The maximum zone of inhibition at 200µg/ml of methanolic extract was observed against bacterial strains. This research will be useful in the field of pharmaceutical sector and can be a lead compound for drug formulation.
