This research aimed to study the role of Zn-enriched biochar on peroxide enzyme activity, Auxin content, chlorophyll, Zn concentration of crop tissue and Zn content of brown rice in different flooding systems. The research was conducted in a greenhouse using a 2-factors complete randomized design with 3 replications. The first factor, Zn-enriched biochar, had five levels, namely: 1. Biochar without Zn enrichment, 2. Biochar with Zn enrichment 2,5 Kg ha-1, 3. Biochar with Zn enrichment 5 kg Ha-1, 4. Biochar with Zn enrichment 7,5 Kg ha-1, and 5. Biochar with Zn enrichment 10 Kg ha-1. The second factor was flooding systems, which included: (1) Continuous flooding, and (2) Intermittent flooding. The results showed that using Zn-enriched biochar 5 kg ha-1 and intermittent flooding system could decrease the activity of peroxidase enzyme by 41,62% (0.0296 – 0.0122 gram per minute), increase auxin content by 3.65% (179.73 – 193.36 ppm) and chlorophyll content by 21.90%, (29.95 – 46.75 ml / l), as well as heighten Zn concentration by 9.11% (19.39 – 23.28 ppm) and boost brown rice content by 37.24% (25.65 - 56.09 ppm). Using Zn-enriched biochar and intermittent flooding could increase the quality of growth and yield of rice crops.
